About The Swiss Press
The Swiss Press is an independent English-language newsroom based in Bern. We publish reporting on Switzerland, European affairs and selected world stories, with a public archive from January 2025.
Our mission
Swiss readers deserve journalism that respects their time. That means factual reporting, transparent sourcing, and pieces that connect a cantonal vote to a European rate decision when the two actually connect. Whether the story is Zurich housing policy or an ECB meeting in Frankfurt, we explain why it matters here.
Editorial standards
- Verify facts through primary sources, official statements and on-the-record interviews.
- Separate news reporting from opinion and label analysis clearly.
- Correct errors promptly and note significant updates at the top of affected articles.
- Respect privacy and avoid publishing information that puts individuals at risk.
Coverage areas
Reporting is organised in four sections: Switzerland for federal and cantonal politics, Zurich for the city and its housing market, Europe for monetary policy and neighbouring states, and World for Geneva diplomacy and other international files. Earlier editions are in the monthly archive.
