DAVOS - The World Economic Forum's 2026 meeting wound down on Friday with the usual pictures: black cars, leftover accreditation lanyards, and a ski slope that had stayed open above the security zone. Police said the authorised demonstration was smaller than some previews had implied and stayed inside its route.
For the commune the costs are local and the prestige is federal. Shopkeepers on the promenade will count receipts against a week when ordinary customers could not park.
