GENEVA - The Palais des Nations ran late August on duty officers, maintenance crews and a handful of humanitarian meetings that do not recognise the school calendar. Dust sheets appeared in rooms that will be full in September. Interpreters were still on leave, or wished they were.
Hotels cut rates again. The lake path did not. Residents treated the month as the one they are owed.
September returns with a vote
Swiss politics will be loud at home before international Geneva is loud again. The e-ID campaign does not need the Palais. It needs letterboxes.
