GENEVA - The Leman Express toward Annemasse and the road crossings into Haute-Savoie thickened as French July holidays began. Some of the flow is Swiss residents leaving. Some is French visitors using Geneva as a station, a hospital, or a shopping street.
Retailers in the city of Geneva treat the extra days as a seasonal fact. Frontier workers treat the crowding as a delay on a line they need in ordinary weeks too.
