ZURICH - The Knabenschiessen's main target event fell on the second Monday in September, this year 14 September, the same morning the Federal Assembly opened in Bern. The Albisguetli meadow still had stalls. It no longer had Sunday's density. City police called the day busy and orderly. Tram 13 ran extras toward the site, then went back to a school-day timetable.
The youth competition, girls included for years now, produced the usual photographs of a winner in a sash and a city that likes a tradition it can finish before dinner.
