BERN - The Federal Chancellery's voting pamphlet for 8 March began landing in letterboxes this week. It covers a popular initiative on cash and a government counter-proposal, the SRG licence-fee cut, a climate fund, and the shift to individual taxation. Five federal items on one Sunday is a full day's reading.
The official explanations try to be neutral. Party flyers that arrive in the same post do not. Households in apartment blocks reported two or three extra leaflets a day.
A short campaign from here
Four weeks is not long for a climate fund that spends in percentages of GDP, or for a tax rewrite that touches every married couple. The stakes pieces that follow this month start with the licence fee.
