LIESTAL - Neutrality campaign buses from both camps worked Liestal and Sissach on Friday, a second story on a day already carrying a Ticino labour file in this paper. Pro Suisse volunteers handed out independence flyers. The government camp handed out a shorter list of what the clause would block, including peacetime cooperation with NATO.
Shoppers asked about foreign troops and about sanctions. Almost nobody asked about the UN Security Council. That is the gap the no camp is trying to close before 27 September.
A bus cannot replace a poll
By mid-month the published surveys were already a clear no, in our 16 September report. Friday in Liestal still sounded competitive, which is why the buses were there.
