BERN - SBB said domestic long-distance punctuality in January remained close to its target of about 90 percent of trains arriving within three minutes. Fog on the plateau caused a cluster of delays between Olten and Zurich in the third week. Those recovered.
The weak point was unchanged: Deutsche Bahn long-distance services into Basel SBB and toward Schaffhausen. Passengers who planned a tight Swiss connection learned, again, to leave a gap.
A border that is also a timetable
Schaffhausen will later ask for late German trains to be cut at Singen. In January that letter was still a complaint in the canteen, not yet a formal request.
