ZURICH - The guilds marched on the third Monday in April and the Boogg burned on Sechseläutenplatz as the city performed its annual close of winter. The head exploded in a middling time, long enough for jokes, short enough for the fire service. Crowds filled the square and the nearby streets.

VBZ ran the published diversions. A few visitors treated the day as a costume show. Locals treated it as a calendar with horses.

Tuesday the rents return

Sechseläuten is the one afternoon Zurich agrees to be older than its cranes. On Tuesday the housing lists and the tram hearing will sound like the rest of the year.
