BERN - Advent stalls on Waisenhausplatz and in the old town did solid Sunday trade in cold air. Federal staff still in the winter session bought gifts between sittings, a Berneise speciality. Mulled wine is not an economic indicator. The queues are a kind of one.
Stallholders said weeknights were local and weekends mixed. They would take that mix through to Christmas if the fog stayed kind.
