BERN - The Federal Council used Thursday, the last working day before the weekend silence, to repeat that the Sustainability Initiative would force the state to cut immigration even if hospitals and building sites could not hire. Ministers said treaty law and the labour market are not slogans. SVP speakers said they are exactly slogans, until a constitutional clause makes them numbers.
The civilian-service law received a shorter appeal: keep the army's door from becoming the easier default.
