AARAU - SVP volunteers in Aarau and neighbouring factory towns spent Friday tying rental queues to the 10 million population cap due on 14 June. They found listeners. They did not find many landlords who thought a constitutional ceiling would add bedrooms.
Mayors said labour shortages in care homes and machine shops are the other half of the same story. A cap that bites would show up as unfilled shifts before it showed up as empty flats.
Cities will vote no, if the map holds
Zurich and the Lake Geneva cantons are expected to resist. Inner Switzerland is the campaign's home. The later polls are in our May survey.
