March Turnout Lands Near 56 Percent Across the Five Items

NEUCHATEL - The Federal Statistical Office's participation figures for 8 March sit in a tight band: 55.4 percent on the cash items, 55.8 percent on the SRG initiative, 55.6 percent on the climate fund, 55.7 percent on individual taxation. That is about 56 percent in the language of election-night television, and a little lower in the language of the table.

German-speaking cantons again outvoted the Lake Geneva basin. Schaffhausen led. Geneva and Neuchatel lagged. The pattern is older than any of Sunday's texts.
