THUN - Whit Monday put walkers on the Thun and Spiez promenades and extra cars on the road toward the Jungfrau region. Mountain railways ran shuttles they had advertised the week before. The water was still too cold for anyone except the usual club swimmers.

Restaurants hired the same extra shifts they had used at Ascension. Staff said they would rather work two holiday Mondays than a wet June.
